Notice

When laying tiles and panels on surfaces subject to high loads and high water loads, a suitable CERAfix system seal must be chosen according to the water effects.

When laying natural and artificial stone, the product-specific properties of the covering materials (tendency to discolour, curling etc.) and the laying recommendations of the manufacturers must be observed. We recommend carrying out a trial adhesion!

When laying large-format tiles, mortar should be applied to the backs of tiles in a scratch coat or using the buttering/floating method used to improve adhesion.

Laying substrates must be prepared and primed in accordance with their requirements. When laying on calcium sulphate-bonded substrates, primer/mortar combinations in accordance with DIN 18157-1 or ZDB information sheet apply.

Do not add water or fresh mortar to set thin-bed mortar to make it workable again, as this could lead to an insufficient strength increase!

CERAfix 403 Plus is a hydraulically curing mortar that must be protected against the effects of water and frost until fully cured, which could take several days in unfavourable weather conditions!

Contact between the cement-based tile mortar and the magnesite screed causes destruction of the magnesite screed by "magnesia expansion" chemical reaction. Backwards moisture load from the substrate must be prevented using appropriate means. Magnesite substrates must be mechanically roughened and primed with CERAfix 103 epoxy resin. Spread plenty of fresh TEGAfix 430 quartz sand over the fresh epoxy resin layer.

After the specified reaction time of approx. 12-16 hours, carry out laying work.

Protect surfaces that do not require treatment against exposure to CERAfix 403 Plus!

Currently applicable regulations must be observed! For example: DIN 18157/DIN 18352/DIN 18560/DIN 18202/DIN 18534/EN 13813/DIN 1055.

EMICODE EC1plus: Very low emissions: The EMICODE classification system distinguishes the highest level of environmental and health claims.

Application area

CERAfix 403 Plus is a C2 TE S1 system tile adhesive for laying large-format stoneware panels, earthenware, stoneware and ceramic coverings. CERAfix 403 Plus is used as a thin-bed mortar for stoneware, earthenware, ceramics with low water absorption ≤ 0.5 % (stoneware), clinker brick, mosaic and non-staining, non-translucent natural stone materials. Due to its flexibility, CERAfix 403 Plus is suitable for laying large-format tiles and panels. CERAfix 403 Plus is suitable for secure laying on all substrates in accordance with DIN 18157, Part 1, e.g. concrete, autoclaved aerated concrete, plaster, cement- and calcium sulphate screed/hot screeds, masonry, gypsum plasterboard etc. as well as on old, firmly adhering tiled surfaces after appropriate priming.

The adhesive mortar is suitable for lightweight panels, e.g. extruded polystyrene (tile bearing elements) and for laying tiles on all CERAfix system seals e.g. humid rooms, public showers, swimming pools surrounds etc.

Very low emissions GEV-EMICODE, which usually means a positive evaluation within the framework of building certification systems according to DGNB, LEED, BREEAM, HQE.

Highest quality level 4, line 8 according to DGNB criterion "ENV 1.2 risks to the local environment".
