For grouting floor coverings made of the following laid in a polygonal manner
- Rough-split natural stone slabs
- Ceramic slabs
Grouting indoors and outdoors
Floor grouting
- In a clean container, mix Würth dry mortar with clean, cold tap water for approx. 3 minutes until there are no lumps
- It is recommended to use a 600 rpm stirrer with a spiral or double disc stirrer
- After approx. 3 minutes cure time, stir again briefly and then apply
- Mix only as much joint mortar as can be used within the working time
- Apply the fresh mortar deep into the joint and across the whole surface using a rubber squeegee, rubber grout float, foam rubber grout board or grouting machine
- If necessary, re-apply after a short period
- Then remove any excess material diagonally
- After the joint mortar has hardened (fingertip test), pre-wash the surface
- Then use the sponge float to clean the surface thoroughly.
- Clean and thoroughly squeeze out the sponge float frequently to minimise water application
- No water film can be left to stand on the fresh joint and puddles must be avoided
- Remove residual streaks after approx. 1-1.5 hours using a damp cloth
- Always work diagonally across the joint so as not to wash the joint out
- Only use clean water to clean the joint, replacing the water several times if necessary
- Do not process fresh joints with a dry cloth or sponge
- Movement joints and edge joints must be kept clear of joint material
- Do not stir additional water into mortar that is firming up
Caution!
Prepare a test surface to assess grouting performance on porous slabs, e.g. micropores on ground surfaces, on untreated or sensitive surfaces such as coatings or on any unknown or new surfaces.
