Notice

Shelf life of 12 months when stored in a cool, dry place protected from the weather

Close containers promptly again after opening and use the product as quickly as possible.

How much material is used depends on the condition of the substrate, the handling of the tool and the type of ceramic material being processed.

Do not use tiles and slabs or natural stones that have been stored wet or in too cold a location.

Movement joints must not be bridged with mortar (see information sheet "Movement joints in cladding and flooring made of tiles and slabs"). The technical data refers to +20°C and 50 % relative humidity. Lower temperatures increase the specified values, while higher temperatures decrease the specified values.

The amount of water required is based on empirical values. It may be necessary to add more water depending on the application.

The setting time depends on the absorption capacity of the substrate and the climatic conditions. Test surfaces must be prepared for very highly absorbent, new or unusual substrates or laying materials

and the processing guidelines of the respective manufacturer must be followed. Clean containers, tools etc. with water immediately. Once the material has hardened, cleaning can only be carried out mechanically

The usage instructions are recommendations based on the tests we have conducted and on our experience; carry out your own tests before each application. Due to the large number of applications and storage and processing conditions, we do not assume any liability for a specific application result. Application area
  • Bonding slurry for vibratory ceramic flooring

  • Bonding layer for conventionally produced bonded screeds on an incline

  • Contact slurry for laying natural stone and stoneware, with edge lengths ≤ of 30 cm, on cement-based screed and drainage mortar using the thick-bed or medium-bed technique

  • For making a non-positive bond between cement-bound substrates and fresh cement screed

  • Can also be used with components that are later subjected to de-icing salt
Instructions

Mix with 6.25 l of water per 25 kg container to create a homogeneous lump-free consistency. We recommend using a 600 rpm mixer with a helical impeller or double flat blade disc turbine.

Give the product approximately 3 minutes to mature, then briefly stir through again before applying.

TEGAfix® 200 is applied all over with a hard broom or wide paintbrush after the substrate has been blasted, dedusted and pre-wetted. The subsequent mortar is applied while the substrate is still wet and then compacted.

When laying natural stone, edge length ≤ 30 cm, TEGAfix® 200 must be applied to the back of the slab in the mortar bed. The slabs are then immediately placed in the prepared mortar bed while the product is still wet.

When using the product as contact slurry for laying natural stone using the thick-bed technique, the entire back of light-coloured translucent flooring materials must be coated white with natural stone adhesive before laying TEGAfix® 200.

Apply only as much mortar as is needed for the number of ceramic tiles and slabs etc. that can be pushed or placed into the fresh mortar bed while the mortar is still wet.

Set mortar must not be mixed with water again.

Permeation is the process by which a chemical moves through the material of a protective glove on a molecular level. The time from the initial contact between the chemical and the glove to the permeation of the material is the breakthrough time.
