Thin cement sulphate screed for use in thin-layer floor renovation systems.
  • The class CT/CA-C30-F8 system flow mortar or thin screed is almost self-levelling and suitable for universal use indoors to create a level surface in layer thicknesses of 10 to 40 mm. It is therefore suitable for use in thin-layer floor renovation systems.

  • The thin screed can also be used as heated screed over underfloor heating and in domestic bathrooms.
Notice
  • CERAfix 222 must be allowed to dry out unimpeded and must not be exposed to continuous or high levels of moisture.

  • Any soft, unstable areas or thin, slightly loose hard shells on the surface can then be refinished by sanding. These surface finishing issues should not occur if WÜRTH CERAfix 222 has been applied correctly (always take into account the slump). However, if they do occur, we recommend roughing the screed before applying any coverings. The division of the fields must be planned in accordance with VDPM/IWM information sheet 5 "Fugen in Calciumsulfat-Fließestrichen" (Joints in calcium sulphate floating screed - only available in German). For floor coverings made of engineered wood, follow the residual moisture levels as recommended by the floor covering manufacturer.

  • Note: Where necessary, provide construction joints based on the machine performance.

  • If CERAfix 222 is used for a thin-layer underfloor heating system, the specifications from WÜRTH must be observed.

  • Cement sulphate floating screed is not suitable for use in garages.

Application area

CERAfix 222 is suitable as a substrate for all common floor coverings (carpet, tiles, natural stone, parquet). The almost self-levelling thin coating can be used universally in indoor areas with layer thicknesses of 10 to 40 mm (taking into account DIN 18560) and is therefore suitable for use as part of thin-layer floor renovation systems. The thin screed can also be used on underfloor heating.


The indoor screed has been tested by the Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics in accordance with AgBB scheme 2018 and is classified as particularly low-emission. Ideally, each room should be separated by a corresponding expansion joint due to the impact noise. For installation in wet rooms, the notes and guidelines for the planning and application of calcium sulphate floating screed apply. Please pay particular attention to the currently valid version of leaflet "Calcium sulphate floating screed in wet rooms" of VDPM e.V. and Bundesverband der Gipsindustrie e.V.

Application conditions


  • Ambient temperature and substrate temperature during application and drying: 5-30 °C.

  • Due to their instability when exposed to alkaline environments, bare aluminium profiles must not be used as a substrate.

  • Protect from the elements (cold, frost, heat, direct sunlight, humidity, rain, wind, draughts etc.) until fully dry.


Application


  • Before starting the work, measure the slump to determine the correct consistency. Place a 1 litre test can (filling height 26 cm, diameter 7 cm) on PE film and fill with material, lift it upwards and measure the slump.

  • Once the screed has been poured level, tamp it crosswise using a dapple bar or hard broom. This removes any trapped air and levels the screed material.

  • When used as heated screed, the material should be applied with the underfloor heating switched on at a max. flow temperature of 20 °C.
