Acetoxy silicone glass clear is not suitable for food contact, for applications in the area of "structural glazing" and for granite and natural stone. A glass seam seal is likewise not recommended. Risk of corrosion when used on bare iron and non-ferrous metals. Acetoxy silicone glass clear must not be applied to materials that may give off substances or by-products over time (e.g. insulating and tar-based paints, butyl sealants or EPDM rubbers). This may result in discolouration of the sealant or impaired adhesion. Due to the large number of varnish and glazing formulations available, always perform your own tests, especially on alkyd resin paints and powder-coated aluminium. Risk of yellowing on contact with white alkyd resin paints cannot be excluded. Use of a smoothing agent may cause the silicone to become cloudy.
Do not use in applications involving contact with pre-compressed sealing tapes.
The usage instructions are recommendations based on the tests we have conducted and our experience; carry out your own tests before each application. Datasheets(X)
For sealing in glass, display window, display case and furniture construction. Small-sized bonding for artistic applications, e.g. for glass ornaments, glass bricks.
The substrate must be intact, clean, dry and free from grease, rust and water. Do not use in heavy rain. Observe the joint dimensioning. Pre-fill joints with PE back-fill material (art. no. 0875 ...). Rework the acetoxy silicone dry before the skin forms, as the use of smoothing agent can cause the silicone to become cloudy. Please observe the "General Notes on Application for Sealants" overview sheet. For more information, please refer to the technical data sheet.
