A ready-to-use 1C elastomer sealant based on an MS polymer
  • EMFIMASTIC MS 60 NG is specially adapted for the elastic structural bonding of materials subject to high thermal and mechanical stress in the marine sector, construction, the general industrial sector and the transport market (e.g. in industrial and/or refrigerated bodywork for bonding sidewalls, front and rear surfaces, roofing and flooring, for bodywork assembly etc.)

  • Use of this sealant also reduces vibration and prevents corrosion

  • Its excellent UV resistance and colour stability make it ideal for sealing applications and lightweight bonding for indoor and outdoor use on ships, yachts and boats

  • Bonding teak on the deck is possible on small surfaces. For large surfaces, preliminary tests are necessary.

Application area

EMFIMASTIC MS 60 NG has the CE marking and is suitable for the following applications:

  • Joint sealant for façade elements for outdoor and indoor use, in accordance with E DIN EN 15651-1 (F EXT-INT)

  • Joint sealant for pedestrian walkways for outdoor and indoor use, in accordance with E DIN EN 15651-4 (PW EXT-INT)

This product has a level of fire resistance in accordance with the current European Union Marine Equipment Directive.

Its EC1PLUS certification in accordance with GEV-Emicode and its A+ "Healthy Living" award according to French Regulation no. 2011-321 ensure very low VOC emissions (volatile organic compounds).

It boasts excellent adhesion on the most commonly used substrates, such as anodised and pre-painted aluminium, painted and non-ferrous metals, steel and polyester, as well as on tiles, gypsum, glass, wood, PVC, expandable polystyrene, stone etc.

However, due to the wide variety and quality of these substrates and their installation conditions, we recommend carrying out preliminary tests on all materials that are difficult to bond, particularly on metals and plastics such as PVC, PMMA and ABS, to determine whether surface treatment is required.

Not suitable for PE, PP, Teflon.

Avoid contact with oils, plasticisers or other products such as bitumen, asphalt, silicone etc.

Instructions

The materials to be bonded together must be clean, level, dry, free from dust and grease, and free from all kinds of dirt that could damage bonding.

If the surfaces to be bonded need to be cleaned, Haftclean surface cleaner art. no. 0890100060 can be used. For materials sensitive to ketones, use ethanol. Check the compatibility of the solvent used with the substrates.

We recommend rubbing concrete (particularly cement slurry) with a metal brush and then dusting off. If the concrete is not cohesive enough, PRIMER 2001 must be applied.

Grind metal surfaces, if necessary (especially when oxidation is present). After grinding, clean again with a solvent and allow the surface to dry for at least 10 minutes.

Note: When using solvents, eliminate all ignition sources and follow the safety and operating instructions provided by the manufacturer.

EMFIMASTIC MS 60 NG is applied using a pneumatic or manual gun.

After application, smooth the joint with soapy water using a trowel.
