The silicone residue remover, in a practical spray can, quickly and effortlessly removes hardened silicon and MS polymer residue.
Substrates: uncoated metals, tiles, coated panels, painted surfaces, glass, aluminium, some plastics (without polyamide and PMMA).
First remove the silicone mechanically. Make sure that the residue solvent cannot run into the joint. We recommend inserting a joint filling cord before using this product.
Cover the silicone residue completely with the silicone residue solvent. Do not dilute with water during the application time. The material can easily run off vertical surfaces, so take this into consideration when applying.
The working time depends on the thickness of the silicone residue. After approx. 30 minutes, the sealant residue should be softened enough that it is easy to remove. Thicker layers should be softened for a longer period.
Loosened silicone and silicone residue solvent must be removed completely, so that the new joint can cure. Use a wooden or plastic spatula to remove the silicone residue. Then clean the joint with a damp cloth. Turn the cloth regularly and replace it as required, in order to ensure that all the residue has been removed. Replace the inserted backfill cord with a new one, so that no silicone remover residue remains in the joint.
Before applying the new sealant, we recommend using a silicone primer for optimum adhesion.
