Due to the high degree of hardness, spherical washers according to DIN 6319 have a risk of hydrogen embrittlement when used in connection with zinc-plated surface coatings. The use of zinc-plated surface coatings is therefore not recommended. The ZFSH zinc flake system does not pose a risk of hydrogen embrittlement and offers the longest corrosion protection times compared to zinc-plating.
