Variants
The crack detector system is a special paint penetration system consisting of three components for non-destructive surface crack detection.
Properties
- The crack detector system is composed of a cleaner, a penetrant and a developer.
- The product is simple and practical to use, using capillary action to penetrate cracks and pores.
Benefits
- Easy-to-apply spray that makes cracks visible to the naked eye
- Allows you to detect and inspect cracks, pores and defects in welding, forging, metal or cast-iron moulding, components, fittings, tools, surfaces and structures
- Suitable for pipework, tanks, reservoirs and heat exchangers
- Can be removed with water and solvent
- Complies with the following standards: EN 571; EN ISO 3452-2; ASTM E1417; AMS 2644; ASME SEC V Art. 6; REACH
- Simple, fast, precise and cost-effective test procedure
- Ensures that welded, forged or cast materials that are difficult to check with the naked eye do not have cracks or pores
Crack detection is used for welding seams, castings, in shipbuilding, aircraft construction, crane construction, mechanical engineering, vehicle construction, commercial vehicle construction, apparatus and container construction etc.
Shake can vigorously for at least 30 seconds before use.
1. Apply the cleaner (art. 0890 800 12) to the surface to be tested and allow to flash off.
2. Spray the red penetrant (art. 0890 800 10) on the area to be inspected and wait for 10-20 minutes (depending on the ambient temperature). The penetrant penetrates cracks and pores thanks to its very good creep properties.
3. Remove excess penetrant using a lint-free cloth.
4. Apply the developer (art. 0890 800 11) thinly and leave to work for 5-10 minutes. Cracks and damage will be visible as an intense red and white contrast.
