Low-solvent special adhesive for reliable, long-term adhesive bonding of EPDM tapes

Excellent material compatibility

Low-solvent formula means it can be used on virtually all common building surfaces, e.g. also on Styrodur.

Highly elastic

When used with the elastic EPDM films, building movements are optimally compensated.

Good adhesive properties

Even adheres to slightly damp (but not wet) surfaces.

Excellent stability

Compound does not run off masonry.

Acid, isocyanate and silicone-free

EPDM sealing tape adhesive, Flexband adhesive and Flexband adhesive Plus must not come into contact in wet conditions. Do not use EPDM sealing tape adhesive on surfaces that have been pre-treated with butyl and bitumen primer. We recommend performing preliminary tests on bitumen strips due to the large number of different systems.

EPDM sealing tape adhesive is not suitable for use on and in aquariums, for bonding on vapour barrier, vapour retarders and roof lining membranes, and also on substrates from PMMA, PP, PE, PTFE (Teflon®) and on substrates treated with release agents.

The usage instructions are recommendations based on the tests we have conducted and on our experience; carry out your own tests before each application. Due to the large number of applications and storage and processing conditions, we do not assume any liability for a specific application result. Application area

For bonding Würth EPDM sealing tapes to window and door reveals and to other construction surfaces. Can also be used on uneven reveal surfaces.

Suitable surfaces are concrete, sand-lime brick, brick, plaster, natural stone, aluminium, steel, zinc, copper, glass, wood, MDF, tiles, ceramics, plasticiser-free PVC, Styrodur foam and also for bonding components made of these materials to each other.

The substrate must be tested for compatibility with the adhesive. The substrates must be solid, load-bearing, clean, dry and free from grease, oil and dust. Remove any release agent that may be present. If necessary, prime with bond and seal primer for metal (art. no. 089010061) or bond and seal primer for plastic/wood/stone (art. no. 089010062).

Some applications require a primer, e.g. with heavy mechanical load or above-average load with water after hardening.

Apply the EPDM sealing tape adhesive to the surface and wipe off with a toothed spatula. Depending on the film width on the structure, the adhesive width should be at least 40 mm, and on the element at least 30 mm with a thickness of 1 mm in each case. Pay attention to the planning specifications if a full-surface bond is required. With film overlaps, maintain an overlap length of at least 10 cm.

Glue the EPDM tape to the surface and press on lightly using a press-on roller (art. no. 0693011750), while ensuring tension-free and kink-free installation. Once the film has been pressed on, the adhesive joint must have a layer thickness of at least 1 mm and be completely filled with adhesive without any air pockets. The tape can be adjusted up to 30 minutes after bonding. Use up open containers as quickly as possible. During application and curing, avoid contact with alcohol, hydrocarbons, cleaning agents and solvents.

Packaging unit

The packaging unit defines the number of articles in one packaging. In the catalog segment you can choose from different packaging units if a pop-up menu is displayed.

Just leave the field empty if you don't know the packaging unit when directly entering the article number in the shopping basket or when importing with Easy-/VarioScan. The packaging unit will be determined automatically.

Structure of our article number

The article number is made up of the following: VVVVAAABBB
VVVV = 4 digits for prefix number (please note that the first digit is currently always 0)
AAA = 3 digits for dimension part 1
BBB = 3 digits for dimension part 2

Example article number structures:
Example 1: Screw with dimensions of 4x10 mm:
00574 10 (2 spaces between the 4 and the 10)

Example 2: Screw with dimensions of 10x20 mm:
005710 20 (1 space between the 10 and the 20)

Example 3: Flat washer with an internal diameter of 6 mm:
