Reduces substrate absorbency
- Protects substrates that are sensitive to moisture
- Extends the tile adhesive open time
- Prevents blistering
- Second (crosswise) layer provides a moisture barrier
Excellent adhesive bond
- Improves the adhesion of tiles and other coverings
- Secure grip to the substrate
Precise mixing ratio
- Quick, easy and clean mixing of the two components
- No risk of incorrect ratios
Low viscosity
- Very easy to apply
- Good pore sealing
High material strength once fully cured
- High abrasion resistance
- Can be used on substrates subjected to high loads
Resistant to alkalis, acids, lubricants and fuels, making it suitable for use on commercial surfaces, e.g. in workshops and industrial environments.
Tested in accordance with EN 1504-2
- Capillary water absorption and water permeability: w <0.1 kg/m2 x h0.5
- Penetration depth: Class I < 10 mm
- Steam permeability: Class II
- Pull-off test for adhesive strength: ≥ 1.5 (1.0) N/mm²
- Fire behaviour: Class E
- Hazardous substances: Conformity with 5.3 (En 1504-2)
CERAfix 103 must be fully cured before the next coat is applied. Cover surfaces not to be treated (e.g. windows and doors) prior to application. Do not work "wet on wet". Protect from frost. Higher temperatures and low relative humidity accelerate the film formation time; lower temperatures and higher relative humidity extend the film formation time. Recognised technical regulations apply along with current standards and ZDB information leaflets.
When CERAfix 103 is applied as a surface sealing agent to mineral-based materials, surfaces can appear much darker and possibly even different shades. Shading and colour changes do not constitute a defect or affect the strength or benefit of the product. If necessary, test areas must be created in advance and evaluated with the customer.
Cerafix 103 is not suitable for use as a coating. When used for waterproofing or as a primer, it is important to ensure that the product is applied extremely thinly. Otherwise, there is a risk of irregular deposits and uneven surfaces. The surface can also become shiny. When applied on an untreated and porous surface, a colour-enhancing effect (wet effect) can occur, depending on the surface texture and absorbency. This is not considered grounds for a complaint.

- For priming and sealing pores. Spread plenty of TEGAfix 430 quartz sand over the fresh primer coat.
- For producing levelling fillers and scratch coats and preparing substrates for coatings.
- For joining cracks and joints in screed and concrete.
- For producing epoxy resin screeds and mortar.
- For waterproofing to strengthen substrates.
- For use as a binder for epoxy resin mortars to seal penetrations and fixtures.
For all applications, mix the CERAfix 103 inside the two-chamber pierceable container following the procedure below:
- Wear suitable protective equipment, such as safety goggles/face protection and gloves! The hardener is acidic!
- Component A (resin) and component B (hardener) are supplied in the correct mixing ratio. Add component B (hardener) to component A (resin). To do so, pierce the top chamber of the pierceable packaging with a tool such as point chisel to allow the hardener to flow down into the second chamber. Make sure that there is no hardener remaining in the container.
- Use a suitable Würth agitator to mix the two components at a speed of approx. 250 to 300 rpm, taking care to not add in any air. Stir in any hardener that has adhered to the sides and bottom of the container to ensure that it is distributed evenly. Mix until the mixture is homogeneous and streak free, which should take around 3 minutes. Transfer the mixed product into a clean mixing bucket and stir again thoroughly. Do not apply the material directly from the original container.
